I have been hunting and fishing most of my life and truly love to be in the outdoors, I like to set traps for predators and chase turkeys in the spring but most of all I am a bow hunter at heart, there is no better feeling than to harvest an animal with stick and string. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart Melissa and we have one daughter Ashley and they both hunt as well, we are all blessed to enjoy the great outdoors and what it has to bring. My passion for the outdoors started at a young age. Most of my earliest memories I can recall as a child revolve around hunting with family. My father made sure that every time he stepped in the woods I was right by his side. Back then it was strictly about the hunt and having a good time. As I grew older so did my obsession with all things outdoor related. With age came the understanding of game management and trophy hunting. In my early twenties my focus was mainly on chasing anything that flew in the air and swam in the sea. I traveled all over feeding that fire and deer hunting took a back seat. It wasn’t until 2008 that I met my soon to be wife’s brother, Steve Frantz, and I had no idea what I got myself into. We both recognized that we each were a little crazy about the outdoors but would never imagine in a million years where that would take us. We began filming together and he decided to take me on my first whitetail hunt in the Midwest… little did we know that would be the beginning of something big. There was a particular deer that he had on his Illinois lease the year before and we knew that he had potential to be something special. We decided to go all out and do whatever it took to harvest him. I asked my wife to marry me on October 27 and I told her I would see her again at Thanksgiving. Steve and I hunted that deer every single day for 25 days… all day long. We only got out of the tree to sleep. As luck would have it we had 2 great encounters with the deer we nicknamed “Tonka” with no success. However the footage was epic and we ended up each killing a great buck with awesome footage. Steve’s kill which I filmed landed a spot on “I shot it with my PSE” competition on Bow Madness. We had always been major fans of Drury Outdoors and just a chance to be on that show was awesome! Steve’s kill ended up winning the competition and the rest is history. Mark and Terry ask us to be a new team on our favorite hunting show.. Dream Season. Four years later we are still rocking and rolling and have had the time of our lives. Looking back I still can’t believe how blessed we have been and it has been a huge catalyst in my life to show me that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and work hard. I would not have the hunting career I have had if it wasn’t for my wife and family supporting me 100%. It can make for some long winters living on the road but as long as the fire is still in me I will continue the chase and try to capture it to share with the world. - Dawn Jensen
Growing up in a non-hunting family I wasn't familiar with the outdoor way of life. It wasn't until I met my boyfriend, Beau, now husband of 12 years, that I was introduced to the hunting/outdoor lifestyle. I started my hunting journey at 16 years old with shooting my first doe with a shotgun. From there I moved on to bowhunting and have been hooked ever since. I have been learning and evolving my hunting skills ever since. Besides harvesting animals and being able to provide for our family I also enjoy all the aspects of being outdoors whether it being planting food plots, shed hunting, putting out trail cameras and scouting, morel hunting, and fishing. When I'm not out doing any of those things I am enjoying my time going on walks with my sweet daughter, golfing with my husband, and spending time with our family and friends. Growing up in Peoria, IL with a blue collar family, Jim grew up knowing what it was to LOVE the outdoors and the hunting and fishing lifestyles of a simple MidWestern town. Along with that comes the values that us hunters share as a common part of our DNA. Jim to this day is as down to earth as ever and those moments at his "Lodge Two-Five" hunting camp in Illinois with Matt, Mark and Terry are some of his favorites each year. When you throw in the antics of that group and Jim's brother's, Chuck and Randy, who have a recipe for interesting TV day in and day at! You can't look past the fact that Jim and his brothers have harvested some MidWestern GIANTS at Lodge Two-Five over the years, helping to add to the mystic and allure of watching one of Jim's adventures on TV or DVD. - ABOUT | Drury Outdoors
Helping Hunters Since 1989 They say time flies when you’re having fun…and 30+ years later a truer statement has not been spoken! In 1989, when brothers Mark and Terry Drury decided to embark on this journey of turning a hobby into a passion, and then a passion to a career, even they couldn’t have imagined the journey that Drury Outdoors would take to get where it is today. You are reading this because you’ve joined us in their latest twist in that three-decade-long journey! Over 70 combined years of Mark & Terry's hunting blood, sweat, and tears is now wrapped up into one comprehensive platform where you can access all things Drury Outdoors 24/7. A “Safe Space” from the trials and tribulations of today’s modern world and a gateway into a place where whitetail and turkey are kings. After years of making every mistake in the book, learning, adapting, and continuing to hone their craft, Mark and Terry felt an obligation to help spread the observations they've seen afield and the knowledge gained through those trials. Over the years, Drury Outdoors always strived to be informative, educational, and entertaining! Whether it was back in the 90s and you were renting their turkey and deer VHS tapes and DVDs from a local video rental store, or in the 2000s when they helped usher in a new era of outdoor television; you’ve grown with them as hunters, game keepers, and ultimately watched as their families changed in the process! Some things will never change though, such as the determination to be the best, the pride in their work and the dedication to the loyal viewers to pursue these animals under 100% Wild, 100% Fair Chase® conditions. This determination also led to the development of the most advanced deer hunting application ever: DeerCast. We live in a day and age where everything has “an app for that.” The tech has advanced so much that the things Mark and Terry would study for hours before a hunt to try and gain an advantage are now accessible in seconds. Our hope is that this powerful combination developed and packaged inside DeerCast will help you make the most of your time. Learn from Mark and Terry's mistakes and continue to hone your own craft in the outdoors by getting up-to-the-minute deer movement predictions for your specific location and invaluable information to help you get ahead of your game. DeerCast has become the hub for all things Drury Outdoors. To think that a video of the hunt can now be shared with you within minutes of releasing an arrow and recovering the animal is truly mind blowing. Especially when you look back to 1989 and the old days of Panasonic AG450 cameras, Super VHS tape format, editing out of a production van in Jackson, Mississippi and finally, months later, hitting the rental shelves! It’s come a long way. At Drury Outdoors, family is a cornerstone of the foundation! It all started with the ethics and morals Mark and Terry’s parents, Ralph and Lucille, instilled in them. Then, was nurtured along the way by the love, support, and advice of their wives (Tracy and Willa) and children. Over time, they passed on the tradition we all cherish so much to Mark’s daughter Taylor, and Terry’s son Matt. Both have grown as hunters and integral contributors within the company. Last, but certainly not least, they assembled a group of incredible hunters from across the country who have become extended family in this journey, the DOD Team! Drury Outdoors will continue to evolve and this journey will be together with you. From the moment you get that trail cam picture of your buck, to the true overwhelming emotion that comes at the end of a successful track job; start to finish, Drury Outdoors will be there in your evolution as a hunter. In return, your valuable time spent within the DOD community will help other hunters hone their beloved passion and craft year after year! Safe hunting, please identify your targets, and thank you for joining Drury Outdoors in our latest adventure!
