Bio

Al Shacklett, who is in his early 30's, was born in Austin, Texas. He comes from a large close knit family and is the youngest of seven siblings, all of which still live in central Texas. Al was brought up around his family's ranch and from an early age developed a passion for the outdoors. Although he was very active in sports until his early high school years, he eventually made the decision to focus on what had become his obsession...bow hunting. After graduating from Westlake High School, Al pursued a business degree at Southwest Texas State University. During his tenure as a Southwest Texas Bobcat, he was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He earned his BBA in the spring of 1995. After a brief stint in Houston, Texas, Al moved south. Al then began studies in wildlife management at Texas A&M Kingsville when he made fast friends with a fellow outdoor and hunting fanatic, Ty Bartoskewitz. A couple of detours later...one in Coahilla, Mexico and the other at Dell Computers...Al started an Allstate Insurance Agency in North Austin and continues to grow his business there today. In the rut of 2001, Al was set up on a blind date where he found a cute little doe he decided was a keeper. 3 years later Al & Ingrid were married on the YO Ranch outside of Kerrville, TX.
