November 29: Mark Drury

The morning of November 30 2012 dawned clear and cold. The forecast was for a WSW wind at 4-5 mph.....But that was the forecast! In actuality the winds were light and variable the first hour of the day. At 7 15 am 4 does and a fully mature MO giant were heading my way. The does showed up first and were about to lead this awesome buck by me at 25 yards and I was ready.

I was sitting in a ground blind facing West and had been feeling the light winds hitting me in the face but as the deer approached I noticed it had switched. At this point our fate would be in the hands of our Scentblocker suits and 2 different Ozonics units. Over the next 10 minutes The 4 does came and went 3 different times with the shooter watching all of the action. Finally, after what seemed like a day, he walked within my range and I was able to take him. I really believe that without scent control system we use each and every day of the season the entire group would have blown out the moment they detected our wind.
