The “turkey point” 10 returned to the farm last week. This deer was all over the Recoynx cameras this past summer. The only part of the farm he was showing up last summer was the turkey point area. We lost contact with him about two months ago. I was afraid he maybe was lost due to “EHD”. When I ran the Reconyx cameras last week he showed up with another big deer. Back up to June 1st this year. I won a hunt on either Mark or Terry’s Missouri farms. I chose Terry’s because of the location. His farm is only 30 minutes from my home. Terry told me I could shoot any deer on the farm. I chose the mud road area. I have been filming Terry quite a bit this fall. We had a big 8 pt (150 class) and a deer we called 10-9-10. He was a 10 pt two years ago, nine point last year, and 10 pt this year. Either deer would have been a fine trophy. Zach and I were set up Saturday morning at Terry’s farm overlooking a beautiful field of Biologic Maximum , Winter Bulbs, and Sugar Beets. Just as I was taking the TC Dream Season Omega out of the case, we had five of the neighbors hounds run through our area barking and chasing deer. I told Zach it was time to move. We packed up and were sitting at my farm by 10 am. Zach told me he was sure we would have a “shooter” show up.

To make a long story short, by the time I killed the “turkey point” 10 pt at 4:30, we had 10 – 12 antlered bucks and numerous antlerless deer in the Biologic all afternoon. Zach did an excellent job running the camera. After the shot, he filmed the big buck cross the creek and go down. Again I would like to say “Thanks Bobby Cole, Biologic and Terry Drury!"

Merry Christmas
John

PS: Missouri needs a dog law that protects the hunters and land owners. The way the law is now it protects the dogs and the dog owners.
