There just isn’t a better place to end “The Journey” of a long season than to spend the last few days at Tara Wildlife in Mississippi. This place is literally overrun with Deer and your guaranteed to be overwhelmed with deer activity during the hunt. With deer up on their feet just about every hunt and shooters presenting themselves daily, our stand time was very exciting. Petey, (the CAD recipient) Team reconyx, and Team Mad killed early leaving Bart and I the only ones left to get on the board. On Saturday we had a new and exciting skills challenge event. You will just have to watch the show to see who comes out on top and puts themselves in the driver seat to win the last leg of Dream Season.

After three full days of hunting, Bart and I were still in search of a buck to put the rage into motion towards. Finally it came down to the last day on the last evening Bobby Culbertson (manager at Tara) was nice enough to put us on the field that so many CAD kids have killed in the years past. We got settled into the box blind early anticipating early movement on this huge wheat field. It was truly an honor to look at the walls of the box blind and see all these kids’ names, what they had killed, and a rifle cartridge hanging beside their name.

As expected, the field literally started filling up with deer about 4:00. Finally after trying to get several shooters in range the wide 8 finally found himself as close as he was going to get. One problem, 56 yards is not exactly a chip shot. I felt comfortable enough to shoot so I told Bart to roll the camera we are about to take this one back to Alabama. I drew back and put the Rage Extreme into spin and we will just say, it found its mark! The shot was high but it was good enough to put this Tara buck on the ground. Bart and I were high fiving, screaming Roll Mossy Oak Properties cause what had been a terrible season for me; I finally got a buck on the ground and we get to finish the season out on a high note! I can’t thank all the guys at Tara enough for putting in the time they did to make Dream Season’s last hunt of the year a total success.

Dream Season went 100% with Archery Tackle and to my knowledge that has never happened anywhere before in Dream Season history. This wraps up another year that Bart and I are so blessed to get to do what we love! Now it’s time to go spend time with family/friends, recharge our batteries, and to start working to improve our hunts for next year. Roll Tide and Roll Mossy Oak Properties! Don’t miss Dream Season The Journey this summer!
