Last year in middle October I did a hunt out in Mexico that turned out really good. When I called this past spring to try to book the hunt, the outfitter had let us know that the Mexico ranch had been shut down due to some safety precautions. After making a few phone calls, I found another place that I was going to try this October that was on the US side in Del Rio, Texas. Charles Coker with TC Outfitters in south Texas was going to fix me up with some good Texas huntin' ! I also brought four of my Alabama hunting buddies, so this was for sure going to be possibly the most fun camp of the fall. We arrived at the ranch on October 21 and the hunt began that evening. Two of my buddies killed great management bucks that evening. Blair and I had a rather slow evening. The new few days brought a lot of rain from the hurricane and this huge low pressure system that was sitting stationary to our west. The weather was making it tough! TC Outfitters still provided opportunities for all my buddies to kill great bucks. Finally on the last evening, Blair and I were presented a shot at a 5 year old 8 point with crab claws. The PSE found its mark at 34 yards and down the buck went!  It took Blair and I till the last evening while some of my buddies had already killed there two bucks ! If anybody looking for a great place in Texas to go, go see my buddy Charles Coker with TC Outfitters. We shot 8 bucks within 4 days between 5 hunters. This camp was sure what I needed, it got back to the fun side of hunting and brought us back refreshed as we are about to head into the rut leg!
Good luck to all!
