March 25: John and Jacob O'Dell

We were turkey hunting this past weekend with our good friend Mike Stroff of SOE Hunts in TX.  While we were turkey hunting we saw some awesome low fence Black Buck Antelope.  This animal was high on my sons buck list, so when we were done turkey hunting we decided to chase after one.  The hunt was absolutely awesome!  After a blown stalk and several hours later we finally got in close to a small herd with two mature bucks.  They were fighting, chasing, lip curling, and rubbing trees!  Their rut was in full effect and it was an awesome sight.  We had a front row seat under the cover of our Mossy Oak Camo and some mesquite trees.  Finally one of the good mature bucks chased a doe to 175 yards from our position and Jacob took careful aim though his Nikon scope with his Winchester Model 70 .270.  He made a perfect heart shot and the video is awesome!  I was so proud of my son and it was an experience neither one of us will ever forget!
