A cold crisp morning, perfect light wind, we knew it would be a good day. But to our surprise the deer were not moving. Several hours and a couple rattle sequences later we saw our first action, we jumped to it especially with not seeing anything in the morning.

Bow in hand camera on and rolling, not sure what we were hearing. Waiting for our first opportunity with angst, a two and a half year old busted through the timber. Although we both knew it was not a target animal it at least provided some entertainment while he was running laps underneath our stand. With all the commotion, it brought in a mature target animal. Only being able to see glimpses of the horns, we still knew it was a shooter. It walked right at our stand and directly into a shooting lane making it just a chip shot for John. Watching it run off and watching it fall makes the entire year of work to get to that point worth it.
