November 11: Chris Comstock

The morning of Nov 11 found me in a big oak tight to a big bedding area. The mature deer had not been moving but with riffle season starting on the 12 it was now or never! As light broke i rattled and grunted and out of the bedding area came a 135" 4 1/2 year old, he closed the distance to about 38 yeards and i released the shot instantly i knew it was low. Having blown that shot. That evening found me over a biologic field. We had doe's and little bucks out all night and then finally a 3 1/2 year old came in. As light was fading i thought i'll rattle one more time. Then there he was a 6 1/2 year old mature 8 pt. a couple of soft grunts on the hyper growl and he went under the tree and on out to the field with a 20 yard shot my early bow season came to an end.
