With all the warming temperatures this year it can only mean one thing, time to get in the spring turkey mode so I got all my hunting gear out and got fired up to go try out the new Rage Turkey Broad heads!  I called my buddy Randy Yarborough down in TN and he said the birds are right come on down so we loaded Rocky and Dolly up and headed south.

We arrived in Lynchburg TN Sunday evening and we set a blind up in the same spot where I killed a bearded hen the year before.

We got in the blind way before daylight and when It began to get light the thundering gobbles started.  After working the bird he just would not come in, but later that morning one gobbled down the edge of the woods we were set up in and we turned Rocky.  There he was on the Rocky Cam... we couldn’t see down the edge of the woods but could see him coming on the monitor and when he got to Rocky I drew back and let the Turkey Rage finds its mark!  He went 40 yards and fell over.

It was nice to get the first bird of the year under my belt the first time out and it was kind of cool to kill him in the same spot I killed Dolly (my hen decoy) last year.
