On dec 26th I set out with my Thompson Center Pro Hunter in hopes to get a crack at a good buck. The weather was a perfect 18 degrees with fresh snow and it was probably the last day I could hunt this year because my first born is due Jan 18th.

At 3:30 4 does and a nice buck came out, but in 5 minutes spooked and all left the field! About a hour later the does started piling in the 10 acre standing beans. As my camera guy and I watched doe after doe I turned around and saw this great buck behind me 30 yards. I had no windows opened in my box blind so I hoped he would work his way to two does feeding across the field so I could get a shot. Time was running out and I was praying pretty hard by this point!

The 148 inch stepped into my shooting lane, as I viewed him through my Nikon scope at 15 yards I slowly squeezed the trigger...when the smoke cleared the buck ran 30 yards and fell over on camera as we cheered with joy!! I just got another great buck out of the same bean field nearly a month apart...I was truly blessed once more.
