November 9: Korey Kirschenmann

My focus for the weekend was on harvesting a deer for the ND deer-gun season. With an early fill of my tag, I switched over to coyote mode for the last morning. My anticipation was running very high as the conditions were favorable and I had been looking for another opportunity to try the scope attachment from J &K outdoors called Nyte Vu.

As coyotes can be especially difficult to call in during the deer-gun season, my goal was to focus on very remote areas and spend additional time walking deep into locations which may not have been disturbed. On my 4th and last calling set up for the hunt, my electronic call began to fade as it was in need of a charge. I took one last look around before getting up and ending my hunt. My last look was rewarded as I noticed a coyote loping down the trail about 600 yards away. A few moments later, I was provided an additional bonus to this deer hunting weekend.
