December 4: Kyle Lamore

Illinois 2nd gun season was here and I still had two buck tags in my pocket. We were only going to have one quick evening hunt back home before we were packing up for Hadley Creek to hunt the following morning. I knew it had to happen tonight or I was going to eat this tag. At 3:00, the school bell rang and both of us rushed out as quickly as possible. We met up at our lease just in time to hunt the last 1 ½ hours of daylight. After getting settled in our Ameristep blind, we had several does filter out and start to feed on the standing beans. With ten minutes of legal shooting time remaining, still only does filled the field. Finally, JJ spotted a buck working towards us…with daylight fading! After dropping the primer in the blind, I managed to put a great shot on him with two minutes to spare! I had just harvested my first deer with my new T/C Encore and hopefully it won’t be my last!
