Pennsylvania turkey season is finally here! We had a great first week in Ohio and was fortunate to film youth hunter Jimmy Scheidter take his first ever turkey. Now we were focused on Pennsylvania. Gregg was up first (don’t know how that happens!).

We were starting on a farm where we had good success last year, but hadn’t been on yet this year. We set up in a spot that has paid off in the past and waited for daylight. We could not believe the gobbling at first light. There had to be at least 15 gobblers within 500 yards of us. After trying to make it happen where we were, we decided to make a quick move on two other birds. We set the King Strut out and had the birds going in the bottom. After a short while, they seemed to be moving away. We were going to make another move and I asked Gregg to make one more call. When he did 4 longbeards roared from 30 yards away! They came right into the King and started to thump on him. I told Gregg to shoot the strutter and he hammered him! First day, first couple of hours and we had an awesome Pennsylvania bird! He had good 1” spurs and a 10” beard. Don’t mess with the “King” baby! Now it’s my turn!
