September 20: Eric Bothun

Booty could not wait for Minnesota archery season to open on 9/19.  Reconyx trail cam videos showed a deer called Juice (because he put on 45" of horn from last year) was regularly in the area.   However, the day came and went with little excitement as squirrel season also opened on the 19th and hunting next to State Land brought gun shots all afternoon.  The next day was a different story.  Juice decided to make an appearance.  Booty had to wait for eternity for Juice to present a quartering away shot.  The shot appeared at first to be nonlethal, but after consulting with Rod Owen and reviewing the footage, Booty and Lee went back to look for Juice.  The track was effortless.  Juice had expired 60 yards from the Mossy Oak Biologic Deer Radish plot.  Two days into the season, Booty wrapped his tag on a Minnesota giant.
