After several other attempts at this limbhanger, I noticed that he was a timid bird. I decided to try using a full strut decoy this morning instead of the 3/4 strut. I was also using the Avian-X HDR hen and lay-down hen as well.

The bird was responding to our call but wanted to hang up out of range. As soon as he went into a ditch, I crawled out and took away the strutter decoy, and then called aggressively once back to the blind.

The bird circled and came in 5 yards behind us, and as soon as he saw the 2 hen decoys he came in on a string.

He had 1 1/4" spurs and it was great closing the case on my Nemesis Tom.
