Rick and Vicki Sanger traveled back to Vicki’s home state of Colorado in the last week of March.
Along with their son, Brock, they enjoyed spending time in the Colorado Rockies doing some hiking, and looking for sheds. After not having much luck locating sheds, their son, Brock, came across the reason why. This 5 point was not willing to give up his head gear just yet.
Their time in the beautiful mountains of Colorado have got them very excited for the 2008 Elk and Mule Deer season. 2008 looks to be a promising year for Vicki to take her first elk.

My good friend, Bobby Matthews, called and invited me to hunt hogs in Central Florida. He knew of a rancher friend that had too many hogs, and asked if I wanted to come down for a few days in early March. He said that we might be able to do some fishing as well depending on the weather. Well, this has been one of the worst and longest winters I can remember so it took me all of two seconds to accept his invitation. Moments later, I called good friend, Mark Luster, and we were making plans to visit the Sunshine State!
When we arrived at the ranch, I couldn't believe all of the signs. We were into hogs right away, and it didn't take long before Mark had his first wild hog with a bow. A short time later, I was lucky enough to harvest one as well, and I had to make the shot at 50 plus yards. Luckily for me, that doesn't seem too far these days, thanks to my PSE XForce bow. The second day of our hunt was also awesome. Mark harvested his second hog of the trip after a long stalk though a Cypress swamp. What an incredible hunt! We were able to enjoy some great weather and even better hog hunting.
As a special treat, we were guests of Captain Mark Gore for a half day of fishing in Tampa Bay. Even though there was a small craft advisory, Captain Mark had us on the fish. Mark Luster was able to catch his first ever snook, a 29" beauty. He also caught his first redfish, another 29" fish, that tipped the scales at over 9 lbs. Then, he caught a trout to get the coveted inshore slam. We caught lots of other fish including some big jacks, more trout, and snook. It was a great fishing trip to say the least.
A big thank you goes out to Bobby Mathews and to our new friend Capt Mark Gore. Thanks again, guys! It was a blast!!
