After missing this buck last season with my smoke pole and my buddy had missed his dad two years before that...we decided to name this deer "Click Jr". Named after his dad that was Click.

I have been hunting hard every day this season with only seeing him 3 times... one of those times was 50 yards from the stand I killed him out of! The night before the season opened the other 2 were in the same area just never in bow range. We had a lot of trail pics of him in this area and it was one of the coldest days this year so I thought I would hunt standing beans with 20 mile an hour winds.

I thought it was going to be a bad night until 4:45 a doe appeared under my stand then not long after that deer started pouring out! When I glanced to my right I saw a big bodied deer and I pulled up my Nikons to realize that it was "Click Jr" feeding his way to me at 5:00! I drew my PSE X-Force Vendetta back not knowing that I would have to hold the draw for about 3 minutes which seemed like ten!

As he cleared the branch I released the PSE Carbon Force Arrow armed with a two blade RAGE...said a little prayer and saw the green Lumenok disappear in his body and watch it hit the ground.... he ran about 80 yards to his death! I knew then that I had truly landed an Iowa giant at 168" rough scored!
