About the Journal
April 20 - Terry Drury
Hunter: Terry Drury
Animal: Turkey
Location: Missouri
Weapon: 12 Gauge Thompson Center Shotgun
Mark and Terry went in early that morning, set up and patiently awaited for first light. It didn't take too long because the birds were gobbling on the roost all morning long and antagonizing the brothers with images of what may yet happen that morning. As the birds began to fly down they started making their way slowly and surely into the Flambaeu decoys.
As the 2 gobblers got closer and closer it appeared as though one was a jake because he only had about a 2" beard. Upon further review when they looked back at the footage the gobbler actually had decent spurs and seemingly just had something wrong with his beard. Either way, that sealed the fate for his partner in crime and Terry layeth the smaketh down on a great mature gobbler! It was definitely the best kill of the year on camera so far....and made for a fun time back at camp as everyone sat around looking at the footage!
Day 2 came and went and saw both Terry and Matt kill great birds with great footage! Later that night Chad Kilmer grilled what may have been the best steaks EVER and it was another beautiful evening in the Missouri Turkey Camp. Making great memories with even better friends! That's what it's all about!
