What a difference 3 weeks make!!!

After hunting 7days the first week of November with no sign of the rut, and virtually no deer movement I didnt know what the last few days of the month would bring?What I did know was the farmer had called and he was finally able to start combining the standing corn! Late November ,fresh cut corn ,now all we needed was for some cold weather to move in .Finally after a record setting high on Saturday the forecast called for a cold front to move in during the night and temps.to drop around 20 degrees!

Last morning of the hunt time to roll the dice hunt a cut cornfield with a doe decoy .Crazy thats what my camera man Chuck Weldon said ,but what could it hurt.Then 1 hour into the set the switch came on 7 does and 3 bucks acting like it was the first of November! After letting those deer exit the field,the deer killing switch went off in my head, RATTLE!!!!! 5 seconds into my first rattling sequence the newest canidate for dream season celebrity tv shows up on the ridge above us, on his stiff legged death march! After checking with Chuck one last time I released my deer seeking rage tipped missile and the rest is history.
