| Being a New York native, I never had anyone in my family that exposed me to hunting. When I finally got to go into the woods with a bow in my hands the feeling of being in "Predator Mode" became insatiable and the need to hunt became an obsession. Meeting Joe and coming to live in Illinois to chase big whitetails fullfilled the need along with pursuing a taxidermy career. It was hard to leave my hometown and family but my kids are grown and gone and it was my chance to live my dream. We eat, work and breathe big whitetails 365 days a year. I also love to call predators and trap coyotes, fox and raccooons. Hunting on the Drury Team has opened up a new passion with filming hunts. I feel lucky to be a part of that "family" of passionate hunters. When I'm not hunting or in the shop, I enjoy cooking. We eat mostly all wildgame that we've harvested and butchered ourselves. Joe's daughter, Jordan, is a sponge for learning and enjoys being a part of everyday life around the lodge, including skinning and packing the meat and the secrets of cooking wildgame. With the passing of her Hunter Safety course maybe we can get her out squirrel hunting this fall. All in all the choice to move so far from home has been a perfect fit for me. I look forward to alot of hunts scheduled in my future. My favorite line is "There are animals whose parents aren't even born yet, I plan on harvesting." |
