The last two weeks of October was warm and mature deer movement was very slow on our farm . We had lots of encounters with two and three year olds rattling them up left and right. I had several m ature deer that I was hoping to get connected with but getting them to move in daylight past my one of my stand is another story. On the 31st, Tim Sylvia rolled into camp, Jeff and I were going to take turns filming him while the other hunted in hopes of doubling Team Sylvia's odds of putting a mature buck to sleep.

November 4th we where set up in the timber it was a cool clear morning with a northwest wind blowing , I looked up to my cameraman David Ward and said "It's gonna happen this morning". Sure enough about 8 o'clock two does worked their way up a draw and the deer we called the "Michelin Man" was coming up the other one. At about 22 yards I stopped him and the PSE and Rage did the rest. I had my Iowa brute on the ground and Team Sylvia was on the board again.

We believe this buck was 8 or 9 years old, but in four years none of us had never seen him. We also had about a dozen Reconyx pictures of him and they were all at night. We found both sides of this elusive bucks sheds 2 years ago, our Michelin tractor tire found one of those for us and thus he was called the "Michelin Man". We knew he was just one of those big old bullies that laid around on our farm, ate all of our groceries and kept our younger stud bucks ran off. Today the Michelin man is dead and our herd is better off without him.
