I was introduced into hunting at a fairly young age by my Dad’s friend since at that time my Dad wasn’t involved in the outdoors. Like most kids I sat by “Uncle Dave” and watched every move the woods made. When old enough to hunt on my own I started going with my cousin Greg and my uncle Glen. They put me on my first deer, a button buck. I was the happiest hunter in the woods. Since those days my passion for hunting has went wide open. I started hunting anything I could. The more involved I became, the more involved and interested my Dad became. I had the reversed role of the son teaching the father how to hunt. I contacted Drury Outdoors in 1995 and expressed my excitement of their videos and wanted to start filming my own hunts. I received a return letter from Steve Stoltz, explaining what camera to use and instructions on how to lay down a hunt. From that letter on I was hooked. My friend and I ordered a Panasonic AG-450 and were off filming everything we could. I left for college and was again on my own camera less. While in college I couldn’t get away from hunting so I started working as a turkey hunting guide. I also started competing in turkey calling contests traveling to a lot of outdoors shows. While competing and being at the shows I started to become friends with others in the industry. I bought my own XL-1 since everything was now filmed in digital and again started filming hunts. I was lucky enough to film with Steve Stoltz for a show called “Outdoor Video Magazine” that had a short stint on the Outdoor Channel. When the show was dissolved I continued filming, but now I needed a partner. I had graduated and moved home to start my practice and that’s when good ol’ Dad comes in the picture. I started dragging him to the stand every chance I could. He got a light speed education on running a camera and hunting. I set a goal with him to do it big or go home. We had our sights set on being Drury Outdoors Team members. We kept at it laying down some kills and eventually have worked our way to our dream; my circle with Drury Outdoors has come full circle. We now are filming in High Definition and are continuously learning to be able to bring quality hunts to Drury Outdoors.

When not hunting (when’s that?) I spend as much time with my beautiful wife, Rachel, as I can. I stay very busy with my practice taking care of patients. I enjoy my job being able to help people everyday. When not at work in the summer I am a river rat! I love to boat and ski (although not to good at the skiing part). I also share the love of those redbirds. I absolutely love a day at the ball park watching the St. Louis Cardinals!
