The first day was uneventful, but our anticipation was still high. The next morning we awoke to thunderstorms before day-break. We decided that it would be best to wait it out and then head to the stand after the storm. The rain finally quit and we headed to the woods about an hour after day-light After climbing up and getting the camera arm and camera set up, I told John to "turn er' on and get some practice". It was not very long before a rabbit came hopping by and I told John to get some footage of the rabbit to get him a little more comfortable with the camera. With John rolling on the rabbit, I caught movement from the corner of my eye. It was a huge boar hog and he was coming into range. I reached over and excitedly whispered to john "Get on him ! Get on him !". John got around and gave me the green light just as the hog turned and went straight away. At a distance of 52 yards he turned and crossed my furthest end of the shooting lane. "Baaaah", I sounded to stop the hog in the same way you would stop a deer. The hog paused just for a moment as I sent the Rage at more than 300 feet per second towards the 250 pound beast. The arrow struck the boar in the heart making for a quick 35 yard recovery and some loud thicket breaking audio!
