About the Journal
May 7 - Aaron Bennett
Hunter: Aaron Bennett
Animal: Turkey
Location: Missouri
Weapon: Shotgun
After a couple weeks of filming...Terry told me I could get behind the gun and go try to find a turkey, so I paired up with good ‘ol Chris Comstock. Chris had a spot in mind that he had not hunted yet this year, so we slipped in at first light and set up our decoys. We had a bird gobbling about 80 yards from us but wouldn’t come in, so we waited patiently hoping he would break and come to us, or another longbeard would arrive in the field and see our decoys. The field we were set up in was a huge bottom field and it was only a matter of time before turkeys would appear. Sure enough, a gobbler popped out about 400 yards away, spotted the King Strut and Feather Flex hens and slowly made his way into gun range.
23 pounds, 11 inch beard, and 1 ½ spurs—Great way to end the season!
