Jason Irish and Rod Owen had traveled back to Kansas to hunt with good friends David and Lisa Schotte of Blue River Whitetails for their 3rd annual spring turkey hunt together.

After not having any luck on the first set up in the morning, Jason spotted a flock of toms and hens as they were driving the roads of David's properties. They decided to drive around them to the other side of the property to come up from behind to get the drop on the unsuspecting birds.

Using the lay of the land, they got to an old logging road and set up the Flambeau decoy in the middle of the road. They called a few times, and 3 strutting toms came in. Jason was able to harvest his first ever turkey with a bow while hunting off the ground, and he couldn’t have been more excited!
