With three birds in the bag, Chris still had one more tag to fill. We had been patterning about 75 birds coming off the roost of the morning in one corner of a big wheat field. After Eric killed his Tom on the 3rd, we moved an Ameristep blind to the roost site and set up in the middle of the field facing the roosting birds.

On the morning of April 4th, our expectations were high. Just after daylight, approx. 75 birds hit the ground in front of us within 30 yards of the blind. They never knew we were there. There were three strutters together, and finally a big Tom marched over to our hen decoy and postured. Chris put the Dream Season X Force to the test and made a great shot. We recovered the bird a short distance into the timber. We hoped to harvest one turkey on our trip this year with our bows and luckily filled all four of our tags. This was by far one of our best hunts ever and cannot wait until next year.
