November 17 - Tayna Playle
Hunter: Tayna Playle
Animal: 163 7/8" Whitetail
Location: Missouri
Weapon: Thompson Center Contender .223
Sunday morning rolled around to find Zach fighting a cold, so he stayed at the cabin while Tanya, Ashley, and I headed to a shooting house in the same field where Zach killed Thriller two weeks earlier. The morning started off really slow. At 7:40 a shooter stepped out into the Maximum at 200 yards all by himself. He started feeding on the Maximum which would turn out to be his last meal! After feeding for a few minutes he started heading right for us. He closed the distance to 100 yards and I grunted to stop him. Tanya took a shot and missed. Fortunately, the buck just stood there looking around, not knowing where the shot came from. He gave her enough time to reload then started to walk off. I grunted again, he stopped, and this time Tanya connected! Tanya has hunted with me for years, but this is her biggest buck to date.
Hunting big whitetails is fun, but also requires a lot of hard work and preparation. Sharing these experiences with family and friends makes it even that much more special for me. I have been hunting whitetail deer for close to fifty years. We have taken all of our biggest deer since I started planting Biologic products five years ago. Thank God for Maximum and Clover Plus!
